CPCS helps community organizations create public art. As public art projects such as murals can be prohibitively expensive, CPCS controls that cost by transforming artists into instructors and its clients into capable student artists. The role of the lead artist in this situation is then to make community members capable of designing and producing their own art. For those anxious about the outcome, the artist also serves as guarantor of quality, stepping in to bring a final bit of finesse if necessary.
